Welcome to Learning Now’s Curriculum Planner desktop application

So glad you’re here! If you are passionate about education and want a clearly understood curriculum then Learning Now’s Curriculum Planner desktop application will be a useful tool for you.

This project grew out of my own frustrations as a teacher working with curriculum documents. As an early stage project built with care I hope you enjoy exploring and any feedback would be much appreciated.

Early access notice: This application is in active development and has not yet reached version 1.0. New versions are released frequently and things will change. Some of the ideas and approaches described in this documentation are exploratory. They reflect current thinking rather than settled conclusions. Treat them as a work in progress, not a finished design.

What is it?

A cognitive tool that turns the sometimes daunting task of curriculum planning into a clear, step by step process. It is a desktop application. It helps you translate the raw Australian Curriculum data into simple teaching and learning programs.

Why does this matter?

Learning Now's Curriculum Planner desktop application helps answer the DuFour's first two questions. In Learning by Doing, DuFour et al. (2016) argues that Professional Learning Communities must keep referring back to these four critical questions.

  1. What do we want students to know and be able to do?
  2. How will we know if they have learned it?
  3. What will we do if they haven't learned it?
  4. What will we do if they already know it?

Young people spend around 12,000 hours of their lives inside schools. When we choose to teach something deliberately during this time, that choice deserves real clarity about what we are teaching and why.
